Thoughts and projects

dog-header
It’s been too long since my last post. Seem to say that every time I post on the site… I’m planning a new site in the not too distant future, I’ve had this version online for a good number of years. The lack of responsiveness and other things bug me now, It’s getting time for  change.

New prints for sale

alps

I’ve had my head down for the last few months working away on various client projects which hasn’t given me a lot of time to get all of the personal work I have planned done. I have managed to complete a series of Alpine landscape illustrations finalised and added to the illustration section of the site. I’ve set up an online shop so you can order A4 and A3 prints to brighten up your walls. There are two versions of each print, gradient sky and blue sky editions.

Stocksy Video / Interview

Stocksy-interview-thumb

Back in February I spent the day with fellow Stocksy United contributor Brian Powell. Brian has been on a wonderful quest with his camera gear visiting various Stocksy photographers and filming short interview profile pieces with them. I had the pleasure of spending the day with him filming and shooting a video about my good self and my landscape photography.

Can’t quite believe how quick time is flying at the moment, been ridiculously busy with work and other projects. I’ve been lucky enough to have traveled to  Scotland twice already this year with my camera and am on the cusp of another trip to work on some new shoots in the snow.

Ello there

Plenty of things have been going on over the last few months which have meant updating the site has been very slow indeed. I’m gathering up a handful of new projects to pop on the site as well as taking some new shots of some recent sheet steel artwork that I have done recently.

Stocksy Awards and Miro Update

Stocksy Awards

Well then, it’s hard to know where to start…

I’m very pleased to announce that I have been shortlisted for two categories in the 1st Stocksy Annual Awards for Landscape Photographer of the year and Travel Photographer of the year. Being listed alongside the overwhelmingly good talent in both categories is extremely humbling indeed.

Happy New Year!

Scotland

I’m kicking 2014 off with a handful of really great things on the horizon which is always a great way to jump into the 365 days ahead.

At the end of December I was selected as a Stocksy United co-op member. Currently my portfolio has a small selection of my landscape images that will be growing steadily over the coming weeks. I have been working on a number of other styles and directions within my photographic work of late and this will no doubt spill over into my Stocksy portfolio and be available for license.

New project process page added to the site

miro-news

I have just made the finishing touches to the process page for my Miro project. There are a number of old and new images of the initial processes and tooling of the piece with some information regarding materials and techniques use to create it.

I plan on adding more to this page as time goes on and the project develops.

Welcome to the new site

Welcome to the new site!

After many iterations of the website over the years I feel this is probably the most comprehensive and informative collection of of my work and skills.

I aim to dig even deeper and add a lot more information on specific projects, along with informative posts on projects I am working on as they happen. My Bronze Skull sculpture has a detailed description of the process involved in it’s creation to start things off.  After a bit more searching for pictures on some dusty old hard drives I intend to update the Bubblegum Monster and Miro as well.
