Developed from initial character designs back in 2006, Miro has evolved into a 3D object for the home.

Miro has been a steady evolution of material and reproduction experimentation. The form was born as an initial design for a 2D character. Over time I have been working to replicate the object in a number of materials and finishes to find the perfect final piece.

The character appears in the book Dot Dot Dash: Designer Toys, Action Figures and Character Art published by Die Gestalten Verlag. I was contacted while posting my initial sculpting of the original master for inclusion in the publication. All subsequent casts have been taken from the original sculpt.

From rotocasting urethane plastics with a flocking finish I have now moved to working with more environmentally friendly and unique materials. My final aim is to cast a small series of Jesmonite pieces with varying finishes. When cast in Jesmonite the weight and feel of the final form is unique.
